Have a Ball and Get Involved

THE THEME: How have the Beastie Boys inspired YOU? Show us visually.

This is wide open, folks. Need ideas? Create something in the theme of Beastie Boys, Hip-Hop, NYC, Yauch’s life or something you learned from his work – or take it a step further and go next level on us. Bring the hot fiyah.

Make something new or dust off that sick piece you made years ago and submit it! You can submit up to TWO (2) pieces!

The sickest pieces will find themselves shown at Littlefield as we celebrate Adam’s life at MCA DAY NYC on August 5, 2017.

Those not able to be shown in person will have a digital presence both online and in a slideshow running throughout the day at MCA Day.

ALL ARTWORK DUE BY 11:59PM July 28, 2017!

Please read, these are important!

Those who will be showing art in the Littlefield gallery will be notified via email, so please be sure to keep a close watch on your inbox! We know plans can change at the drop of a hat, so we will ask you to CONFIRM that you can indeed attend and bring your artwork with you. If you cannot attend, we need to hear from you so that we may make arrangements to include more art.

  • Anything you submit must be 100% YOUR CREATION. THIS IS CRUCIAL. No other person should be able to claim any sort of copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, moral right, privacy right, right of publicity, or any other intellectual property or proprietary right on your work.

  • NO monetary compensation will be provided to contributors. NO artwork will be made available for sale, and we ask that you do not solicit sales of your work during the show. This is a goodwill project. All contributors are working on a volunteer basis. We are hoping you’ll submit art because you want to, and NOT because you are seeking a free marketing opportunity or wish to generate sales of your artwork.

    • Let us be very clear: It is NOT the intention of the MCA Day Committee nor the Keep It On and On Project to generate ANY sort of revenue via sales or auction or donation. This is art in its purest form: FOR ENJOYMENT ONLY. We just want to celebrate Adam and the band in as many creative ways as possible, and be able to share it with the fans around the world so that they can take part in the celebration, no matter where they may live.

  • Online Digital Sharing Agreement: Your artwork and information will be shared on the MCA Day official Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram channels, the KeepItOnandOn.com website and its corresponding Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. ZERO profits will be generated by this sharing – this is simply to allow the show to be shared with the worldwide fan community as part of the celebration. You may opt out if you do not wish to be included in the online sharing.

If your art is not something you created digitally, we need a GOOD PHOTO of your art.

  • Use your camera phone on its highest quality settings.

  • Take a photo with your SLR or point and shoot pocket camera with the JPEG settings set to large (the icon is usually an “L” with a smooth curve), or have a friend who knows cameras do it for you.

  • Make sure you take the photo in a well-lit scenario so we can clearly see what you’ve made. We’ll need a good quality clear image to be able to share your work with the community.

  • Please send us a JPG or PDF. Please, nothing larger than 15MB.

  • If your art is something you created digitally, you can simply send us a JPG or PDF of your art file.

  • Visit the Entry Form page and complete the form. You’ll be given details on where to send your artwork.

  • Artists will be notified of show placement via email.

  • Your artwork must be two-dimensional. We regret to say that we do not have space for sculptures or large 3D pieces. If we cannot hang it on the wall, we cannot accept it.

  • Your artwork must arrive READY TO HANG. Your artwork will be hung on a single screw with a quarter-inch head; therefore, your submission MUST be able to hang securely from this screw and should have a string or wire securely connected to the back. If your artwork does not have this method for hanging/displaying, or we do not feel it can be securely displayed, we cannot accept it.

  • Your artwork must weigh LESS THAN TEN (10) POUNDS. This is a gallery guideline given to us by Littlefield. Please WEIGH your artwork and do not guesstimate. You don’t want your masterpiece to fall and break, right? No. You don’t.

  • You may not promote any organization, business or person by attaching business cards or other advertising to your art.

  • Artwork will be hung at the discretion of the MCA DAY / Keep It On and On Project Hanging Committee.

  • All artwork is to remain in its place for the duration of the exhibit.

  • Artwork may not be removed before 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017. NO exceptions to this policy.

  • All artwork MUST be picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017. We will have a system of check-in/pick-up so please be ready to follow our direction. Details will be emailed to artists whose work will be hung at Littlefield.

  • Any artwork not picked up by 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017, becomes a donation to MCA DAY/the Keep It On and On Project. We do not have a way to store artwork, so please know that you MUST BE PREPARED TO BRING IT AND TAKE IT HOME THE SAME DAY. If you cannot guarantee that, please submit digitally.

  • If you have submitted digitally and opted “yes” to the online digital sharing agreement on the submission form, there will be a digital representation of it included on the web as well as via a digital slideshow that will be occuring throughout the event at Littlefield.

  • If you have submitted digitally and opted “no” to the online digital sharing agreement on the submission form, your work will only be shown during the slideshow at Littlefield and will not be shared online.

  • MCA Day and the Keep It On and On Project assume no responsibility or liability for the artwork submitted.

  • By participating, you indemnify the organizers against any and all claims, lawsuits, and causes of action whatsoever or howsoever arising and brought against them by any third party as a result of your action or participation in the event, including without limitation, your violation of any laws or regulations or your breach of these terms.

  • By submitting you affirm that the artwork is 100% your original work and you have read and understood the information presented under the guidelines.

  • You may only submit up to two (2) pieces of artwork and you must be the original artist of all the work submitted.

  • Art will be hung at the discretion of the MCA DAY / Keep It On and On Project Hanging Committee.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, please email us at keepitonandon@gmail.com. Please do not leave questions as comments on Facebook. If you need info, email is the way to go.
